Baba Harare and Mai TT collaboration simply tilted — Rita — is trending at number one on YouTube at present.
Now the question is how did these guys do it.
Well, after watching the video over and over I was more than convinced the two are big brands. So big that even if they were to shoot without doing anything they would still trend.
But this is not to say, the collaboration is worse than nothing, NO!
The comedienne-cum-musician has had a series of false starts but gladly on Rita she tried and gae her best shot at singing.
We know Mai TT as a comedienne on social media but on the song she was not playing games she really put in some work into it.
Quite honestly, we never knew she could sing, not just sing but singing in English. It was really quite impressive because over and above the song is a jiti song. But she laced her vocals like she was on steroids.
She really fitted the bill as a both a vixen and a singer in the video.
On the other hand, Baba Harare who by now we know why he commands such a huge following. Born Braveman Chizvino, Baba Harare’s makeover has won the hearts of many followers particularly the female fans.
Besides being a sex symbol, Baba Harare has sort of maintained his style of music — Jiti — never mind his notoriety in lyrics.
He seems to know where he wants to take his music and with this collaboration he just proved a thing or two about how he has built his brand over the years since breaking out from Third Generation.
Rita is a love story and it was told in best way Baba Harare knows how.
By the way the two almost locked lips on set which makes for interesting viewing.
