United Kingdom based star — Quonfuzed —- has won the ZimBrits Award for Male Artist of the Year.
The award came hot on the heels of the National Arts Merit Awards held in February when he failed to receive a single nomination after submitting his entries.
This promoted Quonfuzed to vent his anger via social media where be blast the NAMA organisers —- the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe.
The Stop It I Like It singer then vowed to not enter the NAMAs accusing them of being “dramatic.”
“WE Scooped 1 at the ZimBrits Awards a few hours ago Thank you ZimBrits for the recognition and acknowledgement its 2 times in a row now. Special Thanks to the Supporters,” he posted on his official Facebook page.
At least Quonfuzed now has something to show for his work and also display in his trophy cabinet.
Quonfuzed is not the only one who was not happy with the NAMA adjudication. Gospel singer Agatha Murudzwa also echoed same sentiments saying she was not an aawards person.
She lost the Outstanding Female Gospel Award to Dorcas Moyo who also hails from Mutare at the 21st edition of the NAMAs.
Last year, Quonfuzed literally held his own dominating the club and chart scenes with hit after hit.
Songs like Kamunamato Kekubhawa, Shisha and Stop It I Like It, Nguva among others did the rounds on social media and on the airwaves.
His latest single is Nzungu, which is already making waves on the internet and ranked top on YouTube. His first ever collaboration with Winky D on XYZ was long time coming but worth the wait.
The song appears on Winky D’s Eureka Eureka album.
