CAPTION STORY: Zimbabwe’s contemporary musician Jah Prayzah who was the headline act at President Mnangagwa’s inauguration party on Tuesday was embarrassingly called to order midway his performance to allow for other proceedings. The packed National Sports Stadium witnessed the Chiremerera singer being ordered to stop the music amid poor communication between the stage manager and master of ceremonies. Almost unfazed Jah Prayzah belted the music up until the master of ceremonies repeatedly shouted on top his voice to compete with the music blurring from the PA system. It was a mess if not embarrassing. Hallo . . . hallo . . . Jah Prayzah chimira . . . chimira tazvinzwa (Jah Prayzah stop the music we have heard you). One of the memes doing the rounds reads: “For example uri pakati pekuimba Chiremerera wobva wabviswa chiremerera.” This is not the first time that a similar incident has happened. The late Soul Jah Love was also called to order during a presidential rally held in Mutare. Where he was literally told that he was a nonentity in front of thousands of party supporters. But Soul Jah Love sensing the embarrassment had to rush to studio to record a diss song — Ndiri Zvinhu —where he hit back for being called out at the rally.
