Rising musician BaTroy is set to drop his new album simply titled Baba.
The Shungu Dzemoyo Wangu hitmaker who hails Jah Prayzah for leading the way will release Baba on 8 October 2022.
In a post on his status, BaTroy real name Mike Pagiwa announced the album launch would be held at Pazindoga.
Featured at the gig are Carlos Green, Mark Ngwazi and Rosemary Muzvondiwa.
BaTroy said in an interview with Gem Nation News that he went into music business after discovering that “I had the voice and strength to do it.”
And his breakaway hit Shungu Dzemoyo Wangu reflects on his personal experiences after losing both parents.
“Shungu Dzemoyo Wangu expresses my grief. A life without a mother is a motionless one and is also about children who grow in the absence of their parents.
“I had to fight my own battles without anyone to depend on. Only memories left behind of a fighter and a well spirited soul of Rosemary Kamango, who was my mother,” BaTroy said.
Besides Shungu Dzemoyo Wangu, BaTroy also has Ndiwe, on More Entertainment riddim by Cymplex and Ndipe Mukana.
Since he made a huge splash on the mainstream music scene, BaTroy sees himself as one of the big names in 10 years to come.
“Haa pa Ten years I will be a giant and well recognized Artist off Zimbabwe,” he reckons.
Explaining why he doesn’t perform more often, BaTroy said he doesn’t come cheap and was not under pressure to be on stage.
“My fans ini ndino pedza bhora (I am the big deal) stay tuned ndinonzi BaTroy wekwa Pagiwa ndine ngozi,” he signed off.
You have probably listened to Shungu Dezemoyo Wangu and wondered who could this be?
Some thought it was sung by Jah Prayzah while others speculate he wrote and gave it to BaTroy.
