According to Afdis management, the unveiling of the new look gold blend black is a sign they take consumers seriously. Outside the norm, Afdis chose to launch in style through an answer and question session from Managing Director Stan Muchenje, Head of Trade Arthur Kamusoko and Marketing Manager Donna Marowa who explained the unveiling of the upgrade gold blend black in depth and what consumers can expect from Afdis.

You asked us to dress up tonight, whats the occasion?

Welcome guests and give them a background to the scope of the event. We are here to officially unveil and new, exciting and bold look gold blend black – premium blended whisky

What has changed about gold blend black?

The pack has changed. We have stepped up! The intrinsic has remained exactly the same. (a fine blend of scotch and local malt whiskies).

And yes, we have added a secondary pack to complete the look.

We left nothing on the table in terms of quality.

Our packaging is top class – we do not take our consumers for granted, they understand class. We really are walking the talk when it comes to whisky in this country.

Why the big step change?

The brand has matured and this called for a step change. This is very similar to how, as individuals, when we grow and develop we seek to match our personal presentation to our status. We step up!

What do your consumers think about gold blend black

Our consumers appreciate the taste of a good whisky. They have that in gbb. The new presentation will only serve to enhance the brand experience. Consumers are exposed and know what value there is in a bottle of gbb. We have maintained an accessible premium pricing on the brand and our consumers are the biggest beneficiaries of this upgrade

There are a lot of traders present here today as acknowledged earlier. What does this upgrade do for them

Our traders are the most important stakeholders here tonight. Without them our consumers are inaccessible to us. Traders are in business to make money and they want a product that sells off the shef and generates revenue for them. The upgraded gbb will deliver on that.

When can we expect to see this new look gbb on the shelves?

In all liquor selling outlets

At what price

We recommend a retail price of $8

Exciting times with gold bend black there, what about the original gold blend?

This remains the core variant of the brand and we have given it a well deserved facelift too. The bottle has changed into square bottle which is synonymous with whisky. The label has been modenized and while we have kept some elements consistent, we are definitely looking younger and sassy.

This is just in time for christmas. Will we get enough stock to be truly festive

Yes! We have made sure that we have enough stock to make Christmas merry.

What else can we expect from Afdis?

We have recently started cider fermentation of our ciders (hunters and savanna) locally, that’s value addition. We are working with farmers to support and resuccitate grape prodiction in the country

We recently alsostarted bottling 4th street locally and that has helped us manage pricing to the consumer

We also look forward to soon be unveiling a number of new products that our team is busy working on.
