Prior to last edition of Fiesta, a outdoor event at the weekend, uMlando hitmakers had never performed in the capital Harare.
But last weekend the South African outfit stepped up and gave Zimbabweans who attended quite a performance.
Shirtless as seen on video, the guys pulled it through and left the crowd punting until the end.
Of course, thanks to DJ Chucknosis who brought the group to perform to Fiesta, an outdoor and chill for real setting.
uMlando was a showstopper and it was well and good the guys performed it as their last number.
The whole Alex Sport Club got down to dance showcasing the uMlando and singing along to “Namhla senz’umlando” (roughly translated as “today we’re making history”).
Just like it appears on the several viral Tik Tok videos, the dance drove everyone crazy and felt a lot like eKasi down in Mzansi.
Basically what was all the more surprising was that even Zimbabweans could rock to uMlando just like the South Africans do.
And for those that have watched the video, it also authentically showcases many Kasi (township) culture elements: Jägermeister bottles, street hairdressers and bucket hats.
No doubt uMlando resonates well not just in every South African nightclub but continental wide!
There are more reasons than one why the group took Harare by storm at Fiesta.
uMlando was officially released in January 2022, with 9umba and Mdoovar on production and Toss, Sir Trill, Sino Msolo, Lady Du, Young Stunna and Slade on vocals.
Two months later, the single went platinum and accumulated 270 million views on Tik Tok.
So it was only natural that when uMlando outfit came to Zimbabwe they would be a hit.
Also on the bill were several local DJs who took turns to entertain the massive crowd.
