The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has introduced a groundbreaking Employee Management Module within its Tax Returns Management System (TaRMS), which will be launched alongside the January 2025 PAYE Return.
This major upgrade promises to simplify payroll tax processes for employers across Zimbabwe.
The new module is designed to streamline employee registration and earnings declarations, making tax computations more efficient.
ZIMRA’s Domestic Taxes Commissioner, Mr Misheck Govha, explained that the system will automatically calculate taxes, reducing administrative tasks for employers.
Key features of the system include comprehensive employee registration, flexible registration options, and auto-filled PAYE and AIDS Levy calculations.
Employers can input essential details, such as marital status and disabilities, allowing the system to apply relevant tax credits.
The module also includes provisions for declaring Medical Aid Contributions and Medical Expenses Credits, offering added benefits to businesses. ZIMRA urges all employers to familiarize themselves with the system to ensure a smooth transition.
This new system marks a significant step towards modernizing tax administration in Zimbabwe, enhancing both compliance and service delivery.
