The Ibotso singer was nominated in the best African Dancehall Entertainer category at the 40th edition of IRAWMA scheduled for Jamaica on May 7, 2023.
Winky D will tussle for the award alongside other big names the likes of Patoranking, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Star Zee.
Winky D is currently trending in Zimbabwe with his latest album Eureka Eureka, a socio-economic project that has raffled feathers of the powers that be in the southern African country plagued by corruption, nepotism, unemployment, substance abuse and rising levels of poverty.
On Eureka Eureka, Winky D called a spade a space critiquing the bad governance in songs such as Ibotso and Dzimba Dzamabwe.
