The inaugural ZB Half Marathon held at the weekend will next year include People Living with Disabilities, starting with the Wheelchair Race, Group Chief Executive Officer, Shepherd Fungura said.
Mr Fungura also said the half marathon will be an annual event and will be held across the country.
“Next year we will be in Bulawayo. For more inclusivity we will also include People Living with Disabilities, starting with the Wheelchair Race. Making you smile is serious business to us and we do hope that we have made you happy today.

The half marathon was held under the theme: “Improving lives through service: Sustainable growth and Creating Happy people through wellness.”
He said the objectives of the ZB Half Marathon were aligned to sustainability and the UNSDG number 3 which is to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
“I am happy to see participation across various ages and of note, are students participating from our schools entrepreneurship development programme with Emergination Africa.
“Some of them have established companies and trading. We are human first and the wellness of each and every one of our customers, employees and stakeholders is so important to us that it is tied to our strategy. Wellness, good health is wealth.
“Regular exercise is the single most important aspect to combat diseases and it improves
emotional and mental wellness,” he said.
“As ZBFH Group we follow the triple bottom line concept (3Ps, Planet, People & Profit)-
We are working towards contributing to the sustainability of our planet.”
Lium Svari came first in men’s 21km race ahead of Marlon Tenzeni in second and Soloma Mutsikamahwe in third place.
In women’s 21km Lorna Doorman clinched first position while Patricia Chikambura was in second ahead of Rumbidzai Chiunda in third place.
In men’s 10km race Bright Handiradi came first while Hillary Nyandoro was in second and in third was Trymore Mhlanga.
