ZBFH talks property rights, estates at ZAS

ZB Financial Holdings Wednesday took their corporate social responsibility a notch up dissemination information not only about banking services but also the well-being of the banking public.

The presentations held at the ongoing Zimbabwe Agricultural Show bordered on day to day lives of the banking public including inheritance, wills and estates.

“The presentation was on property rights of spouses in the marriage context we discussed these issues because they affect out day to day lives as a bank. We believe that we do not simply exist for purposes of making profits from our commercial dealings with the banking public we also have a duty to give to the society that we operate in we have to disseminate information that empowers our clients in their personal or private lives,” ZBFH Corporate finance manager Hugh Gutura said.

“To us that is very important so the presentation looked at the rights of a surviving spouse in the circumstance of death, when one has lost their partner what are the rights they enjoy in respect of the estate that is left behind we also discussed the respective of rights of a spouse who are faced with the unfortunate circumstance of a divorce we touched on that we also looked at the general principles of the management of money in the home , investing money and buying assets and the fact that every couple has the right to choose the formular that works for them and we also examined what will happen if there are disputes with regard to the management of assets and properties.”

Also discussed was the Zimbabwean market – Problems and challenges:

Economic Instability: Zimbabwe has faced economic challenges, including inflation – general increase in prices of goods and services; currency volatility – unstable foreign exchange market, difficulties in accessing forex on official channels;

Political and Policy Risks: Political stability and consistent policies are crucial for long-term investments.
