Socialite Jackie Ngarande has checked into rehab following her foiled suicide attempt beamed live on her Facebook page.
The delectable starlet early this month shocked her fans on Facebook through a tortuous 23-minute session, contemplating suicide.
“I just want to die and rest,” she gushed.
Ngarande also told of how people judged her by her past.
“Most of you here come to me with your own problems. You make me a superhero for solving other people’s problems. But, the truth is I don’t have anybody who I sit with, share my problems with and who listens to me,” she said at the time.
The live video attracted more than 5 000 viewers, who were consoling her, praying for her and advising her not to take her life.
Speaking through her publicist Michael Shoko, Ngarande announced that she had sought ‘professional care’.
“Currently, Miss Ngarande is seeking professional care where she is being treated for depression, anxiety and also attending grief and loss therapy classes,” Shoko said.
“She still needs your prayers as she goes through this recovery journey and an update will be given in due course as she is determined to get better and resume her philanthropy work on this platform.”
Shoko also quoted the verse “I am the lord that heals you. Exodus 15:26.”
“Miss Ngarande would like to thank you heartily for the support you have given her through prayer, words of encouragement, visits, phone calls, text messages and the flowers that brightened up her days.
“It is gestures like these which have helped give her strength to recover and cheer up,” he said.
Previously, Ngarande has been involved in a lot of philanthropic work including feeding the homeless and poor, something which irked her since she felt she was not being appreciated for her good deeds.
