Reggae Music and culture is the biggest Jamaican export to the world and it has gained a big following in Zimbabwe.
Reggae music and the associated Jamaican culture started gaining popularity in Zimbabwe in the early & 80s when the late King of Reggae Bob Marley visited Zimbabwe in 1980 and to date, it has cemented its place in Zimbabwean entertainment industry and this can be attested by the huge number of Jamaican artists, who have performed in Zimbabwe in front of huge crowds.
The Love for reggae music in Zimbabwe has seen a rise in entertainers who have shaped the Zimbabwean reggae industry and the whole of Africa at large.
Last week ZBC Classic263 radio Reggae Producer and Presenter Terrence The Reggae General Mapurisana thrilled hundreds of reggae fans in Tafara who have been missing what can be termed as “the original” Reggae music of such artists as Gregory Isaacs, Bob Marley,
Yellowman, Freddie McGregor, Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Jimmy Cliff, among others.
Terrence Mapurisana, who presents reggae music every Sunday on ZBC Classic263 Radio thrilled fans with his selection.
Popularly known as The Hotstepper, Mapurisana has mastered the art of blending and entertain through reggae music and last week’s show at Beer Planet in Tafara saw reggae fans from Mabvuku joining in as well.
