Harare — President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called for renewed peace, unity, and collective effort as he delivered the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Tuesday, marking the Third Session of the Tenth Parliament of Zimbabwe.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national cohesion, President Mnangagwa said:
“We should never get tired of preaching hope, unity, and peace, as one indivisible nation.”
In his address, the President outlined key achievements across various sectors, noting growth in agriculture, infrastructure development, and tourism promotion.
He also highlighted the government’s efforts to modernize the media landscape, including the transformation of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) and the rollout of the National Youth Empowerment Strategy (2026–2030).
Turning to technology and innovation, the President announced the adoption of the Zimbabwe National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy, aimed at leveraging digital transformation for economic growth.
“This will harness the economic potential of AI while mitigating its undesirable impacts,” he said.
Mnangagwa also presented Parliament’s legislative agenda for the new session, urging lawmakers to expedite the passage of key bills that reflect citizens’ aspirations.
“Laws passed by this August House carry the hopes and aspirations of our people,” he emphasized.
With optimism and resolve, the President reaffirmed that improving citizens’ quality of life remains central to his administration’s agenda.
“No one and no place will be left behind,” he declared.
The address concluded to resounding applause from Members of Parliament and invited guests.
As Zimbabwe continues its journey toward economic transformation, the President’s message of hope, unity, and innovation set a tone of optimism for the months ahead.
