WATERFALLS – The Waterfalls community is mourning the untimely death of local businessman Marshall Baradzanwa, the founder and owner of Parkwash Liquor and Grill, who died last weekend following a road accident along Seke Road.
Baradzanwa was more than just a businessman — he was a community builder.
What began in 2021 as a modest car wash steadily transformed under his vision into a lively social hub. Spotting an opportunity to serve his neighbourhood better, he expanded the concept in 2023, launching Parkwash Liquor and Grill and turning the once-humble automotive spot into a vibrant lifestyle destination.
But for Baradzanwa, the idea was about more than profit.
In an earlier interview with Gemnation, he shared that his inspiration came from personal experience. To enjoy a night out, he often had to travel from Waterfalls to the northern suburbs — a journey of roughly 25 kilometres.
The bigger concern, he said, was the return trip.
After a night of entertainment, driving back home while intoxicated posed serious risks. That reality sparked his determination to create a safe, classy and convenient leisure space within his own community — somewhere residents could unwind without travelling long distances.
Through Parkwash Liquor and Grill, Baradzanwa sought to redefine local entertainment in Waterfalls, blending convenience, safety and ambiance in one accessible venue.
His sudden passing leaves a void in both the business community and among the many patrons who found more than just a hangout spot at Parkwash — they found a homegrown success story.
