Kunonga readies Valentines’ Day gig at ZimCafe

Indeed love is in the air!

And it is even better if are at ZimCafe International this Valentines’ Day where music, food and drinks will be served to couples.

Afro-jazz musician Victor Kunonga says he is ready to serenade music lovers this Valentines’ Day at ZimCafe, the home of Portuguese chicken.

Backed by an eight piece band, Kunonga said energy was high and he would bring his A-game to celebrate the day.

“Obviously, we would start on a soft and soulful note and build it up depending on the energy in the audience.

“But we take a soft approach to the show, and the band is ready to perform,” Kunonga said.

The Mayidarirei singer has just released his latest single Izongena off his sixth upcoming album simply titled Induna.

“So far we have been sampling the track here and there and people like it. I wrote the track some six years ago but only finished polishing recently but it’s a beautiful track,” Kunonga said.

Asked what fans can expect at the Valentines’ Day at ZimCafe, Kunonga said sine lockdown he has been perfecting and recording new music.

“Well, we have been pushing a lot of new music which some may have missed. So basically, we are going to perform all those love songs we have been recording a couple of years back,” Kunonga said.

Kunonga who is backed by Band Peace commands a mature following on the music scene. And whenever he performs fans are left clamouring for more.

Easy skanking and jamming, Kunonga has a way of engaging with fans on stage.

Isaac Neshamba more popularly known in showbiz as F&B Guru, confirmed that patrons would be in for a treat.

“Expect Lamb on spit, soothing music and fine dining!

“This is the sort of cool ambience music lovers are going to enjoy at ZimCafe International along Kwame Nkrumah Avenue this Valentines’ Day which falls on a Monday.

“The night will be one to remember as couples will have a special treat and value for their money,” F&B Guru said.

Those who want to attend singled will pay USD30 while couples will pay USD40 for a three course meal.

Added to this will be lots of prizes to be won as well as fun games for couples.

But what will be a Valentine’s Day dinner with a dress code, according to F&B Guru the dress code is red, white black, the colour that resonate well on the day.
