In a startling turn of events following accusations of cheating and ex-factor — Sir Wicknell Chivayo and wife Sonja Madzikanda have gone separate ways.
According to Sonja via her Instagram, the couple has been split for some time now and an official announcement would be made on 1 May 2024 as they finalise their separation.
In 2017 Chivayo married Sonja Madzikanda and it was reported that a bride price of US$50 000 was paid.
Sonja said in no uncertain terms that it had come to a point where “we not gonna keep forcing things” and that “love doesn’t win all the time.”
“We still here, I am still gonna be John and Minana’s mom and I am sure Wicknell will still be a good dad to them.
“Love doesn’t win all the time, we not gonna keep forcing things. So, I appreciate everyone who has reached out,” Sonja said.
She stated that she was single and that Sir Wicknell was free to do what he wants and with whoever he wants.
“There are just a few things we need to iron out and we are still gonna be going back and forth about it but those people who know, know.
“So, all I can say, is he can do whatever he wants, with whoever he wants. He is allowed to do that as a single guy and I am also single,” she said.
She said he hoped Wicknell would still be a good dad to her two children — John and Minana.
“Thank you for everyone who chimed in. The supporters and instigators. I really just want this time to focus on my two favourite people. I trust everyone can respect that.”
This comes barely a month after reports that Sir Wicknell was linked to two women one Zimbabwean — Mazvi and a South African named Mihlali Ndamase, a claim which Sir Wicknell has since denied.
Added to this, Sir Wicknell’s friend Tazvi Mhaka last week refuted allegations linking him to Sonja after some unverified pictures of him and Sonja’s look-alike surfaced on social media. The alleged woman sat on Mhaka’s lap raising eyebrows among social media users.
It appears the split has been a culmination of several things not least the car donations to several musicians running into millions of dollars.
The news of the split came hot on the heels of Sir Wicknell’s trip to the United States where he met Jamaican Sean Kingston.
Only God knows what became of this celebrity couple as all looked rosy and a match made in heaven.
