Many in her native Zimbabwe will know her as a racy model, actress and television presenter.
But after finding her purpose in the Kingdom of God, Moreblessing Veronica Bishi is now an Apostle.
Not to say beauties can’t be religious, but what a noteworthy transformation it has been!
Believe it or not, the same confidence she exuded on the runway is the same she now exhibits on the pulpit.
“My experience as a model instilled confidence in me as I am able to stand in front of many people,” she said about her transformation.
Now going by the title Apostle Moreblessing, the now 35-year-old started out modelling at a tender age of 12 back in 2000.
“It was actually my classmates who encouraged me to model. I was always passionate about the modelling industry but I lacked the confidence,” she explained.
“My very first title was Second Princess Miss Glen View Primary Schools in 2000, followed by Miss Heroes 2002. I was a photographic that’s why I didn’t enter a lot of beauty pageants. I stopped modelling in 2008 to pursue film and television.”
Her most memorable moment as a model was in 2005 when she played a cameo role in the popular ZBCTV soap Studio 263.
She also participated in the Miss HIV and AIDS pageant which was hosted by the late Anne Nhira, who played lead role in Studio 263.
While the glitz and glamour of modelling and television was too much for her to resist, church was the last place you could possibly find her.
“I didn’t know God and I didn’t think that he had anything to do with me,” she said about her life then.
“Now that I know Jesus, I know that some people are actually called to be models. The Lord looks at the heart and nothing else. Modelling is an industry that I still love even today as it paved way for me to be an actress and TV presenter.”
But perhaps the question to ask is how did she move from modelling to preaching.
“I encountered the Lord in 2015 in my late 20s. I met an apostle who was my age and he had his own church. I didn’t believe him until he showed me a church flyer with his picture on it.
“Then one day I told him that I was going to attend one of his church services. In that church service I decided to give my life to Christ and started serving in the house and kingdom of God. A few months later the Lord revealed to me that he had a purpose for me and that I was an apostle. It took several confirmations from other servants of God for me to actually believe that I was a woman of God.
“I did not live a glamorous life just because I was a model. I encountered a lot of sufferings in my life. But I believe that God was training me for such a time as this; that I may reveal HIM to the world and manifest his glory.
“But by the grace of God I am what I am!”
In 2017 Apostle Moreblessing of Christ Jesus International Ministries received a prophecy that she would relocate to the United Kingdom where she would start a big ministry.
“I relocated to the United Kingdom last year and everything changed and this is my destiny. It is very much possible for models and even those in the entertainment industry to praise the Lord. A person can be born again and having faith and still have a passion for modelling,” she said.
Apostle Moreblessing is scheduled to return back home on 4 May 2024 where she will join her host Pastor Sarah Takawira at a One Day Conference themed ‘In the Name of Jesus’ at Old Rainbow Cinema in the city centre.
“I am coming back to Zim as a preacher, people should expect a word from the Lord Jesus. I am inviting all to come and witness the glory of God. Many people have known me as a model but the apostle in me shall be revealed on the 4th of May.”
