Tafadzwa Fichani, one of the notorious Fichani twins, shuttles between their gold claims in Nembudziya and their father’s farm in Banket.
He earns a living from royalties from a gold mine bought by his father, George Fichani, at Zenda in Nembudziya, Gokwe.
During the rain season, he retreats to Banket in Mashonaland West, where his father owns another farm. Tafadzwa claims the ranch in Nembudziya, Gokwe, was bought by his father from top businessman Billy Rautenbach.
He started off as a gold artisinal miner before losing his left arm, in a machete fight with other Makorokoza friends. His hand was severed in the fight and it had to be amputated.
Tafadzwa who calls himself “Mhondoro Nyamatsatse”, is now unable to work in the mine with one hand so he collects royalities.
Tafadzwa told Slymedia that he makes US$1,000 daily from mining royalties.
“I’m unable to mine because I have one hand. However, I still get money because these 17 gold claims belong to our family, so I get a percentage each day from anyone who wants to mine here,” he said.
Tafadzwa said he’s now openly living with HIV and claims to have slept with over 1,000 women in his lifetime, from his days in England to date in Zimbabwe.
He said he’s been married three times, has six children, and has remarried, and has a son named Zimbabwe.
Contrary to 2006 reports that they were deported, Tafadzwa said they came to Zimbabwe voluntarily. He said he holds an Information Technology degree but didn’t look for a job, stating “there was no money in going to work”.
Known to many Zimbabweans as the Terrible Twins, the duo sparked controversy in 2006 when they walked in Harare CBD and Mount Pleasant wearing goatskin kilts (nhembe)that left their buttocks exposed.
They were arrested, held in remand prison, and released on condition they wear clothes. Now living fully clothed, the twins – Tafadzwa and Tapiwa continue to live in controversy and making controversial statements. #fblifestyles #weird
