Gospel sensation Dorcas Moyo is up for the National Merit Awards People’s Choice Award predominantly male category.
The category also has Mark Ngwazi, Theophilus Chigumira, Alick Macheso and Freeman.
Announcing the nominees, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe the organisers said the list was in particular order.
“Members of the public were invited to vote for their favourite artist from any genre and background from the 10th to the 20th of February 2023.
“All practicing Zimbabwean artists were eligible for consideration including artists who were not nominated for a NAMA award.
“Votes were cast via the National Arts Merit Awards Facebook and Instagram pages as well as via Whatsapp and SMS. Following the amalgamation of votes, the top 5 finalists were selected,” the NACZ said in statement.
Beginning 20 to 25 February 2023, members of the public are now invited to vote for the winner of the prestigious NAMA People’s Choice Award via the following Click N’ Pay chatbot platform: +263 719161399.
The winning finalist will be announced at the NAMA Ceremony which will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre on the 25th of February 2023.
