CHELSEA BEE PIZZA – The latest culinary buzz in Borrowdale

By Dr. Tony Michel Monda

Diners’ attitudes and desires change constantly. Whilst eating out has become more routine than occasional; many people now view dining out as an affordable indulgence.

Clearly, running a successful food service outlet today requires the experience of a proficient manager with a broad base of skills and a critical eye for details.

Restaurants with a long successful track record and guest loyalty- base their success on continuously satisfying levels of good food and good service.

Other elements that play an important role in a successful restaurant include the decor; the lighting, the furnishing and tableware, the service and personalities of the servers – even the clientele.

They all combine to create the mood and ambience of the restaurant. In fact, for most patrons the ambience may be as important as the food, or even more important.

Nestled in a quite lane on Fernleigh Road in Pomona, is Chelsea Bee Pizza, Grill and Bar Restaurant – the new culinary buzz in Borrowdale.

Secluded from the noisy Borrowdale traffic and hub-bub of Sam Levy’s Village, Fernleigh road lies, between Glenelg and Campbell Roads. It is a serene lane lined with exotic palm trees, tree ferns and cycads. Its tranquil ‘green theme’ has been embraced by the small indoor and garden establishment of Chelsea Bee Pizza, Grill and Bar where patrons are welcomed by willing waiters ready to serve them.

Chelsea Bee Pizza, Grill and Bar is managed by Mrs. Qondile, a professional with years of experience in the hospitality industry.

Behind her friendly easy going manner she boasts a wide range of skills with a critical eye for details and keeps the establishment spotlessly clean.

Well appointed, a small selection of art works and bouquets of fresh flowers compliment the décor to welcome clients to Chelsea Bee Pizza, Grill and Bar Restaurant.

The menu that boasts some delectable culinary delights caters for family breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The establishment consists of an indoor restaurant with comfortable, well-spaced out seating for 150 diners and a covered garden patio that extends into a well-tended sub-tropical garden that seats a further 60 patrons in its full capacity.

Cuban Royal palm trees, cordylines, dracaenas, delicious monsters, mongo grass, ferns and other exotic plants enhance the homely, picturesque ambiance of the venue where patrons can enjoy their meal in the sun and fresh air.

Swaying fronds of King palms cast their soothing shade in the supervised, safe parking area and take away the stress from the usual busy Borrowdale milieu and traffic.

A playground where children can play is pr Qondile believes cooking is a creative process. “A restaurant’s menu is usually the most important

element of its success. It helps to define what the restaurant is all about – it states what it does best,” she said.

At Chelsea Bee Pizza, Grill and Bar, Qondile strives for a menu that provides nutritional food, variety and value.

This small establishment also caters for exclusive events such as intimate Valentine’s dinners, small conferences, church lunches, business events, product launches, weddings or a scrumptious lunch with friends.
