HARARE – The Zimbabwe Jazz Festival returns this September with a powerful line-up of local and international acts, promising two nights of unforgettable music in Bulawayo and Harare.
Now in its 8th year in the capital and 4th in Bulawayo, the festival is hosted by the Zimbabwe Jazz Community Trust in partnership with Alliance Française.
Bulawayo kicks things off on Friday, 12 September at Alliance Française with performances by afro-jazz sensation Dudu Manhenga, acclaimed saxophonist Vee Mukarati, the globally diverse Frank Salis Experience, and the genre-blending Tich Makalisa Band.
Harare follows on Saturday, 13 September, with an all-day celebration of jazz at Alliance Française de Harare.
The line-up includes Josh Meck, Rute Mbangwa, Mahlaba of Sunduza, Mbare Jazz, NokuTenda and The Legacy Band, plus encore appearances from Vee Mukarati and The Frank Salis Experience.
Artistic Director Filbert Marova described the festival as “a vibrant celebration of music’s power to connect us,” highlighting its mix of heritage and innovation. Alliance Française directors praised the event’s role in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and artistic growth.
