NetOne will soon roll out smart agricultural solutions countrywide which include smart greenhouse, Smart Water Metering System and Remote Monitoring as well as Livestock Tracking System.

Briefing the media on the upcoming sustainable agri-tech solutions by NetOne in partnership with Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (ARDA) at the Harare Agricultural Show, NetOne GCEO Mr Raphael Mushanawani said the trial runs had been successfully finalized on selected farms.

“We are here to service Zimbabweans primarily so what that means is that we are looking at a person who is in the village they may not have a greenhouse but we know that they can use drip irrigation so those are the people that we are targeting.

“We will be able to assist, to make sure that the water that is being used for drip irrigation is measured, is controlled so our target really is for smallest household to commercial farmer in Zimbabwe,” Engineer Mushanawani said.

“This initiative has been on the cards for quite a long time if you would recall at our ZITF 2023 we had already started working on this project and right now we are in the final phases of finalizing, testing we do have farms that we are testing these solutions on, very soon we should be able to roll out this to the entire population of Zimbabwe.”

He said the smart solution were usable to any place where there is NetOne connectivity in line with the mantra leaving no one and no place behind.

“So it has been on the cards for as long as I can remember I think 2022 with most of 2023 we have been refining the project now we are ready to go into the market,” Eng Mushanawani said.
