Harare comedy lovers should brace up for some Laugh Out Loud (LoL) moments on May 23, 2024!
Featuring the talents of Zambia’s most sought-after comedian The African Joker, he comes to the Sunshine City to share some laughter, after all laughter is the best medicine.
The African Joker whose real name is Eric Mwaanga is scheduled to perform a one-off show at the 7 Arts Theatre.
He confirmed the gig via a post on his Facebook page: “My biggest family is in Africa and this time get ready Zimbabwe the African joker is coming to town on the 24th of May! Guess who is coming to Zimbabwe yah me . . . so I the African Joker will be live in Harare on the 24th of May 2024 with you at 7 Arts Theatre Avondale Harare. So Zimbabwe get your tickets and make this a night to remember. I cannot promise you good behaviour on this night. So, you cannot avoid to miss this a night to remember tell a neighbour, tell a brother, tell a sister, tell an uncle, tell your girlfriend and yah tell your partner . . . because on this day its going down babe!”
Organisers are yet to announce the supporting acts at the show.
The African Joker is mostly known for his comedy but there is more to this than just jokes as he is a radio news presenter.
“I think radio workers we have a responsibility to give the right information.” He once said.
“Even after decades, radio has remained to be one of the oldest, most popular, and most widely consumed news mediums. It also plays an important role in delivering information during the time of natural disasters.”
He once joked about how Zambians cheat in a viral video on YouTube.
