Zimbabwe’s music star Winky D is readying his latest album simply titled Eureka at the Harare International Conference Centre.
The track list is not yet out but there is so much hype around the upcoming album.
The album launch scheduled for December 31, 2022 will see the Gafa president in action plus a host of other artists the likes of Enzo Ishall, Killer T, Holy Ten, Nutty O and Saintfloew.
About the title of the album Winky D’s publicist said: “Eureka is a cry of joy or satisfaction when one finds or discovers soothing.
“Fb=pVg where Fb is the buoyant force in Newton’s, p is the density of the fluid in kilograms per cubic meter, V is the volume of displaced fluid in cubic meters, and g is the acceleration due to gravity.”
Certainly not the explanation that can be understood by ordinary citizens and one hopes the confusion does not cascade to the album.
Ordinary people need ordinary music which they can relate and dance to.
Of course, this is Winky D’s part of separating himself from his contemporaries.
Over the years Winky D’s music has evolved from Zim dancehall to pop to anything between.
The question many are asking is why Winky D drifting from riddims which made him the artist that he is today.
Whatever the reason, people still enjoy it when Winky D drops an album.
And it remains to be seen how Eureka will fair on the music scene following the success of Gombwe and Njema which Winky D launched on New Year’s eve drawing record crowds at HICC.
