Vice President Dr Constantino Guveya Chiwenga recently opened a prestigious private school Northend in Hwedza where he hails from.
It was a grand opening and a homecoming for VP Chiwenga as he set foot at Mashaya Mukanya Ancestral Traditional Courtyard Business Centre, about 5km east of Hwedza District Growth Point.
Thousands of villagers embraced VP Chiwenga for gracing the event where he thanked the new dispensation under the leadership of President Mnangagwa for pushing development in the area.
“An Upper Middle-Income Society can only be realized when a society is educated, to fit in the various fields of social and economic developments. Hence, the field of education is of paramount importance.
“The second republic, under the able leadership of the President of Zimbabwe, HE Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has made significant strides in archiving universal independency, access to affordable and quality education, is now wide spread with more schools being constructed throughout the country.
“I am so enlightened that they are going to have a vocational training department, an array of sporting activities like hockey and tennis among the common traditional ones here.
“Tinoda kuvakudza VaMukono, haa maita mukono chaiwo, this is what we want in the Second Republic under our honourable father, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, who leads the education of the mind and talents,” VP Chiwenga said to thunderous rounds of applause.

Chief Weston Zvenyika Kuwandikira Mukanya Svose expressed excitement to VP Chiwenga during the familiarizing tour and grand opening of the prestigious boarding school in Hwedza district.
“Thank you very much my son VP Chiwenga for gracing your ancestors’ courtyard, here is where our first great ancestor called Svove Mugurwa Charamukwa’s rulership and only courtyard was, Zitateguru Svosve Mugurwa Charamukwa shared land and blessed his sons as chiefs of different land from here, this land is ancestrally holy, he said anyone who was not going to get his chieftainship from here was not going get it again and this place is now called Mashaya Baradzanwa, meaning washaya washaya uye makuparadzana, so this soils is the soil of chieftainship blessings, all the Mukanya clans got their chieftainships from this land we are standing on, and I know the exact shrine, I cannot tell you where it is exactly, it is for us the chiefs only, only for those houses which were officially given the chieftainships by Himself ziTateguru here at Baradzadzanwa/departure point of the Mbire.
“So this ceremony was ancestrally acknowledged, and we now look forward to its prosperity, and we wish VP blessed as our son and vis President of Zimbabwe, varikutigonera vakomana ava, mabasaka amutswa aya,” Chief Weston Zvenyika Kuwandikira Mukanya Svose said.
