A new US$100 million state-of-the-art housing project is set to transform the western outskirts of Harare, just 28 kilometers along Bulawayo Road near Lake Chivero.
The development, led by Warwickshire (Pvt) Ltd under the Lake City Development Consortium, aims to create a modern, sustainable residential city on long-unused land currently occupied by some informal settlers.
The planned city, known as Rock-Ridge, offers residential stands ranging from 323m² to 3,542m², priced between US$30 and US$40 per square meter.
A special diaspora discount scheme is available, and buyers can pay through 36-month interest-free installments valid until 30 September.
Lake City Development Consortium CEO Tapiwa Nyandoro assured potential buyers of a peaceful, secure, and environmentally-conscious community.
“We aim to provide not just homes, but full services including schools, clinics, hospitals, and modern infrastructure,” Nyandoro said.
The project is expected to create 10,000 jobs and contribute significantly to Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy, particularly in addressing Harare’s housing backlog.
Existing residents will be incorporated into the development, ensuring inclusive growth. The initiative blends residential development with broader economic ambitions.
The launch event, attended by Lake City stakeholders and partners, concluded with a site visit to the Arlington Housing Scheme, showcasing world-class, A-class skyscraper designs east of Harare.
