Politics aside, who is best between Winky D and Jah Prayzah?
Well, if you are fair then the answer is both but if you are a fan then you are bound to pick one.
This sort of debate rages among Jah Prayzah or Winky D loyalists and that debate is never ending especially to those uninformed.
Well what people need to look at whenever such debate arises is the issue of sound. Is Winky D’s sound sustainable or not? Then you also ask yourself is Jah Prayzah’s sound sustainable or not.
If your answer is NOT then the one who ticks all the boxes with YES is perhaps the best.
The art of music is about sustainability there has to be continuation and evolvement. A sound should not be static because when new trends come you cease to exist and those that adapt quickly survive.
While we at it, this weekend, the two Winky D and Jah Prayzah are lined up for what has been dubbed as ‘Redefined’ concert, essentially a triple threat affair that also features the talents of award winning Nutty O.
Presumably, the concert will redefine the two artists in the way they perform, relate to fans and also the perceptions around them.
We say promising because both have not arrived yet but are still pursuing their different journeys whose destinations will define who the best is.
Stakes are pretty high with both artists itching to prove a thing or two.
We have not seen the two attending each others’ concerts or rather wait to see what the next will do on stage but if this happens the better.
Winky D has a tendency of leaving the venue once he’s done and so does Jah Prayzah.
Given the magnitude of this show Nutty O remains neutral and his presence will be more than felt since he is likely to open for the two.
The show is put together by Gateway Stream Music and is slated for the HICC this Saturday.
