Rooftop Promotions administered performance space Theatre in the Park Tuesday announced the postponement of their upcoming play.
The theatre play from Bulawayo titled `Billion Dollar Campaign` written and directed by Thulani Mbambo was scheduled to run from 16 to 19 November 2022 at 6om.
“We regret to announce the postponement of the play `Billion Dollar Campaign` which was scheduled for this week from Wednesday to Saturday.
“Please note that this decision was not made lightly, rather it was necessitated by circumstances beyond our control.
“Keep in touch with us through our social platforms and press where we will be announcing new dates,” Rooftop Promotions producer Daves Guzha said.
Earlier Theatre in the Park’s programs and communications coordinator Passmore Ndlovu said that the play was coming at a time when the venue reopened and was packed with different activities for the festive season.
The cast consists of Julian Tshuma, Leonard Phiri, Gift Chakuvinga, Nomvuyiso Mabi, Precious Ndlovu, Isheanesu Kasibondi and Emory Nare.
In the play, we see Sinyoro while campaigning to be an MP, taking billion dollars from the investors with the promise that if he wins, he will do anything that they want.
Now that he has won and in power and its now payback time. What the investors want goes against what he stands for. He has sold his soul to the devil. Will the MP betray his people and constituency or face the wrath of the investors who seem to be prepared to spill the beans even to shed blood.
It’s people versus his skeletons.
Last week, the venue hosted a successful theatre play by top Harare theatre dance group Elysium Magna.
Theatre in the Park will also be bringing the father and son concert this Friday 18 November 2022 with Jacob Mafuleni and Abel Mafuleni.
