Zimbabwe’s sungura star Alick Macheso is up for two Family Shows which will ignite his 2022 calendar.
Macheso has been on and off the stage following the not so busy but eventful festive season.
The man of song known for his bass guitar wizadry returns to stage with his first live show slated for January 22 at Club Manake in Ruwa.
He resumes family gig themed parties with another gig scheduled for January 23 at Club Las Vegas located near Southerton Police Station.
At Club Las Vegas, Macheso who is lovingly called Extrabasso by his legion of fans will be well supported by some old and new faces on the music scene.
Both shows start at midday and organisers have pledged to adhere to Covid-19 protocols although with Macheso and his band Orchestra Mbeirkwazvo this could pose serious logistical nightmares.
This is because at any given show Macheso is a crowd puller and many of his fans want to dance floor as much as they love to eat and drink.
That said, Macheso has not been staging live shows for the longest period and fans have been starved of great afternoon entertainment.
One only hopes that Government relax the curfew and also allow for more people to attend live shows since music is the antidote that soothes and unites people together.
But musically, Macheso also hasn’t put new music out something that he needs to put in his to do bucket list for 2022.
Yes, he has a rich discography but fans always want and enjoy something fresh. But with Macheso anything can happen.
He is known for sampling new music during live shows and this could be the perfect opportunity to see how new songs will be received by fans across the country.
Like he always says: “I only compose and release songs, the rest is up to fans to decide whether good or bad, but they will confess.”
