Zim dancehall star Seh Calaz is stirring up excitement in the music world – and this time, it’s not just his fiery diss tracks that are making headlines.
In a recent interview on DJ Sparks’ podcast, the Hatipisike hitmaker revealed a surprising twist: he’d rather face off with Daddy Hope on stage than clash with his usual rivals!
Despite battling ulcers, Seh Calaz was in high spirits as he shot down any notions of clashing with contemporaries like Silent Killer, Quonfused, Platinum Prince, Maggikal and even the legendary Winky D.
According to him, they simply don’t have the “competence” to go toe-to-toe with him in a battle of wits or rhythms.
This bold statement comes on the heels of his latest diss track, Mambo ndiMambo, which sent shockwaves through the dancehall community, taking direct aim at some of the biggest names in the game.
But here’s the twist: when it comes to who he’d want to face in a real clash, it’s not his regular foes he’s got his sights on.
“If I were to choose who to battle against, I would go for Daddy Hope,” Seh Calaz shared, explaining that he respects Hope’s musical creativity, especially when it comes to diss tracks.
“If you release a diss track talking about my ill-health, you’re not being creative. Daddy Hope’s diss track was the only one that made sense to me,” he added.
It’s clear Seh Calaz isn’t just throwing shade – he’s throwing down the gauntlet.
And while fans are still buzzing about Platinum Prince’s provocative response to Mambo ndiMambo, Seh Calaz made it clear that he believes in keeping things “musical” and not too personal.
“When we clash, we need to draw the line. It’s about the music, not personal attacks,” he explained.
