Seh Calaz 30th birthday bash set for Mbare Netball Complex

Zim dancehall singer Seh Calaz real name Tawanda Mumanyi will hold his belated birthday bash this Saturday at Netball Complex in his homeground of Mbare.

Seh Calaz was born 29 September 1993 and he grew up in Mbare, Harare where he launched his career firstly, battling against his arch rival Soul Jah Love.

Later he set himself apart as a battle artist to becoming one of the cherished forces in Zim dancehall and Kambucha drink brand ambassador through his music which relates to impoverished ghetto youths.

That said, Seh Calaz commands a huge following and he calls his fanbase Mabhanditi meaning convicts.

He usually give props to his fanbase who have been with him since his formative years and almost always in every other song he mentions mabhanditi as in hard knocks of life.

Some of his heartrending songs include Mabhanditi (2013), Mumota Murikubvira’ and Kwatinobva Kwakasiyana Siyana on the popular Bodyslam Riddim.

Calaz is recently riding the charts with his latest single itled Takaipfuura released two months ago.

To help him celebrate his 30th birthday, Seh Calaz has lined up some of his contemporaries at the gig organized by Chipaz Promotions.

On the bill include Dhadza D, Sillent Killer, Kinna, Hwindi President, Blot, Uncle Epatan, Jsh Master, Ndunge Yut, Master H, Tipsy, Mr Proper, Flexy H, Mbare Buyaka and firm favourite Zim Pogba among others.

Also to be featured are ChillSpot Family the trio of DJ Fantan, Levels and Rhibhe, Etherton Beenie, Tanaman, DJ Fydale and Cymplex Sound.

 In December 2013, Seh Calaz was voted Best Male Dancehall Artist at the King of the Dancehall contest. In the same year, he did a remix of ‘Mumota Murikubvira’ with Turbulence, a Jamaican dancehall artist who had come to Zimbabwe for a show.

In March 2015, he dominated the nomination list and won the following categories: Best Video, Best Club Hit and Best Vocalist accolades. In April 2015, he launched the ‘Bandit Rebirth’ album.
