Zim dancehall prodigy Seh Calaz Wednesday sent his heartrending 44th birthday wishes to Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the newly formed party Citizens’ Coalition for Change.
Chamisa shares the same birthday month with another top Zim dancehall star Winky D and their birthdays are a day apart.
While Seh Calaz and Winky D might not be the best buddies at least they appear to have one common friend in Chamisa.
The Mumota Murikubvira hitmaker tweeted:” I would like to wish @nelsonchamisa, Happy Birthday to the man with the task of securing a future for our generation and that of our children. May the Lord bless you with wisdom and patience and a long memory that will always remember how our generation suffered#Shotreipapo.”
The tweet got over 2700 likes and was retweeted 602 times.
Nowadays more and more artists are openly expressing their political views by way of music or posts on social media with the likes of Sanii Makhalima, Phitso, Thomas Mapfumo Lorraine Guyo and top comedienne Madam Boss showing their support for the main opposition leader Chamisa.
Others including Roki, Sandra Ndebele, Mai TT to mention have also thrown their weight behind the establishment in support of Zanu PF government.
However, musicians who act as mirrors of the society should be fully aware of the consequences that come with supporting a particular party because their fan base are diverse.
