There has been great enthusiasm about Roki coming back and taking his place for some time now.
And Roki has listened to calls from his fans with a new video called Zviriko, essentially a feel good song to warm up to the new trends in music.
Zviriko is a love song in which Roki admits to have special love for his lover. This usually happens to people when they fall in love for the first time or when they find real love.
The Oskid produced track is really slow giving Roki ample opportunity to wax lyrical.
He of course, did not strain himself but effortlessly delivered some romantic tune in both English and Shona.
The one good thing is that Roki deliberately chose a slow tempo so that he sets himself apart from those who have been running the game in the likes of Holy Ten, Anita Jaxson, Poptain and ExQ among other contemporaries.
This move will ensure that fans get to listen to his music and not give him credit where it is due.
So far so good. And the video is as simple as it gets.
Again, this is something Roki deliberately delivered as he warms up to the music. It’s just him and a vixen and the silhouette background makes the song an enjoyable listen.
Both the video and the song will grow on you and it is not a sure fire hit but then at times music has to sink in and hit you.
There are no surprises but then Roki wants fans to focus on him and the music and this video serves on both purposes.
But again, if you are a fan, the video might be well the wait but if you not a fan, then perhaps Roki needs to do what he has always done!
