If great minds think alike then great musicians certainly should sing for same cause.
This is perhaps what you feel when fans listen to the latest single Love Shouldn’t Hurt, a collaboration several young talented voices.
Featured on Love Shouldn’t Hurt are Winky D, Ammara Brown, Sandra Ndebele, Freeman Holy Ten and Hwabaraty.
These musicians are sending a clear message that love is love there is no need for hurting each other.
And much more than just a gem of a song, Love Shouldn’t Hurt is a campaign against gender-based violence.
This is a worthy cause considering gender based violence is increased during Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns.
In Zimbabwe about one in three women aged 15 to 49 have experienced physical violence, and about one in four women have experienced sexual violence, since the age of 15, according to the 2015 Zimbabwe Demographic and Health Survey.
Indeed these number are not only shocking but a cause for concern.
And when some of the best musicians in Zimbabwe came to together on the track it prove there is strength in numbers.
Each verse condemns violence from Winky D, Ammara Brown to Freeman.
Already fans are spoilt for choice with some claiming that their favourite artist did justice to the song.
But on the whole, it is the whole project that wins.
The song has hit 51,194 views since it premiered Sep 23, 2022. The latest version is sort of a remix of Winky D original production titled Rudo Harurove, and you hear this when Ammara Brown sings the hook.
And he latest is called Phase 2 of the Love Shouldn’t Hurt campaign. Winky D, Freeman, Ammara Brown, Holy Ten, Sandra Ndebele, and Hwabaraty come together in this massive collabo!
