Chivhu – The lights were low, the fashion was high, and the energy was electric.
On a night when glamour met purpose, Presly Madzura was crowned Miss Chivhu at a dazzling ceremony that brought together local fashionistas, community leaders, and the beating heart of Chikomba West.
Held at the elegant Philjen Lodges, the third edition of the Miss Chivhu pageant was more than a beauty contest—it was a movement.
And under the theme “Empowering the Girl Child Through Leadership,” the young women on that stage didn’t just walk; they commanded.
Presly, glowing with cool confidence, left no doubt why she deserved the crown. Her intelligence sparkled in every answer, and her poise spoke of a leader already in the making.
But as she herself would tell you: the crown is not just a decoration. It is a call to action.
Adding star power and gravitas to the night was the guest of honour, Dr. Tatenda Mavetera, Member of Parliament for Chikomba West Constituency and proud Patron of Miss Chivhu.
Taking the mic to cheers, the Minister delivered remarks that had the room hanging on every word.

“Our young women proved that the future is not waiting—it is already here,” Hon. Mavetera declared, her voice ringing with pride.
Turning to the new queen, she continued: “I am proud, as Chikomba West Constituency Member of Parliament and Patron of Miss Chivhu, to congratulate our new queen Presly Madzura—who stood on that stage with grace, intelligence, and the heart of a leader. This crown is not just a decoration. It is a call to action.
“I look forward to walking with her as you serve our community and carry the torch for every girl child in Chikomba West.”
No showstopping night happens alone. Hon. Mavetera made sure the room knew exactly who to thank:
“This night would not have been possible without our sponsors. Thank you for believing in our daughters—Mai Chibaya from Philjen Lodges, who were our hosts, and the entire organizing team. To three years of excellence: you are the backbone of this movement.”
Then came a moment of heartfelt tribute. “To former Miss Chivhu, Evna—your community work in schools, food drives, and mentorship to the girl child really set the standard. Presly has big shoes to fill, but she is ready. Thank you, Evna, for showing us what leadership looks like.”
Before the final sash was placed, Hon. Mavetera made sure no one left without their flowers:
“To all the finalists—you are all queens. Never stop leading.”
As the crowd rose in applause, she lifted her gaze to the future: “Here’s to many more years of lifting our girls. Chikomba West is proud.”
With a new queen crowned, a community united, and a message that echoed far beyond the lodge walls, one thing was certain: in Chivhu that night, entertainment had a heartbeat, and leadership wore a sash.
