Harare- The Ambassador of Palestine, Tamer Almassri has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ ambush on Palestinian civilians at an aid site in Rafah, which resulted in the killing of over 50 innocent individuals.
In a statement, Ambassador Almassri described the incident as a “mass atrocity” and a “blatant disregard for human life.”
“This horrific incident reveals a new and barbaric Israeli technique: ambushing Palestinians at aid distribution centres with the deliberate intent to maximize casualties,” Ambassador Almassri said.
“Such calculated acts of violence against a population already facing starvation and displacement are unconscionable and amount to war crimes.”
The ambassador called upon the international community to immediately intervene to halt the systematic massacres and ensure accountability for the Israeli military’s actions.
“The world must act now to ensure accountability and protect the Palestinian people,” he said. “The deliberate targeting of civilians seeking aid, coupled with the ongoing denial of life-saving supplies, is a grave violation of international law and a stain on humanity’s conscience.”
The death toll in the Gaza Strip continues to escalate, with over 54,418 Palestinians killed since October 2023 and over 124,190 wounded.
Thousands more remain trapped under rubble, with rescue efforts severely hampered by the continuous bombardment.
Ambassador Almassri’s condemnation of the Israeli atrocity has sparked widespread outrage and calls for action from the international community.
As the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip deepens, the world is forced to confront the reality of the Israeli military’s actions and the need for immediate intervention to protect the Palestinian people.
