The 2022 Jikinya Dance Festival National Finals which were penned for Thursday 24 November 2022 will now be held on Friday 25 November 2022 at the scheduled venue and time.
In a statement, the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe said the date has been moved forward to align it with stakeholder considerations.
“The finals of the national choral competition for Primary schools will now be held on Thursday 24 November at the same venue. Any inconvenience is sincerely regretted,” Rodney Ruwende, the NACZ Communication and Marketing Manager said.
Meanwhile, all the provincial competitions for the festival have been completed, and the following schools will take to the stage at the national finals on Friday.
1. Queen Elizabeth Primary School (Bulawayo)
2. ZRP Support Unit Primary School (Harare)
3. Zamba Primary School (Manicaland)
4. Chipindura Primary School (Mashonaland Central)
5. Chitsungo Primary School (Mashonaland East)
6. Munyaradzi Primary School (Mashonaland West)
7. Madyangove Primary School (Masvingo)
8. Lwendulu Primary School (Matabeleland North)
9. Mtshabezi Primary School (Matabeleland South)
10. Chiedza Primary School (Midlands)
The Jikinya Dance Festival is a traditional dance competition for Primary Schools organised by the NACZ and the National Association of Primary Heads (NAPH).
The competition has been running since 2001 involving over 5000 primary schools each year competing at district, provincial and national levels.
