After a four-year hiatus, the Mighty Zambezi Bonfire Festival returned in spectacular fashion on Saturday, transforming Donnybrook into a vibrant winter playground of music, food and unforgettable experiences.
Despite the chilly July weather, hundreds of revellers turned out for the much-anticipated festival, where roaring bonfires and electrifying performances created a warm atmosphere that kept the cold at bay.
Organisers left nothing to chance, strategically placing fires around the venue to ensure patrons stayed cosy throughout the event.
And when the signature mighty bonfire was finally lit, it signalled the start of an evening filled with pulsating music and high energy.
Opening the live performances was songstress Tamy Moyo, who immediately raised the temperature with the energetic stage presence she has become known for.
Dressed in a Zambezi green T-shirt, she had the crowd singing along and dancing to a catalogue of fan favourites.
The Djembe Monks followed with a captivating set, blending infectious rhythms and percussion that kept the audience fully engaged.

Takura, affectionately known as Mr OK OK, maintained the momentum with a string of sing-along hits from his EP, earning loud cheers from an appreciative crowd.
The festival’s DJ line-up — DJ Loz, DJ Tino and DJ Klique — ensured there was never a dull moment.
Serving up a lively mix of Afro-house, Amapiano and local favourites, they kept the dance floor buzzing well into the night.
Bringing the curtain down was ExQ, better known as Mr Putiti, who delivered a crowd-pleasing medley that traced his musical journey from the Urban Grooves era to his current crossover success.

His performance proved to be the perfect finale to an evening packed with entertainment.
Beyond the music, festival-goers enjoyed a host of attractions. Patrons received a complimentary six-pack of Zambezi Lager on arrival, while gaming enthusiasts took part in both live and online games.
Liquid Intelligent Technologies also provided free Wi-Fi, allowing guests to stay connected and share the experience in real time.
With its inviting setting, lively atmosphere and carefully curated entertainment, the Mighty Zambezi Bonfire Festival reaffirmed why it remains one of the country’s most anticipated winter lifestyle events.
Summing up the mood after the successful return, organisers posted on their official Facebook page: “Mr Putiti shutting it down in style! Zambezians, thank you for making this Bonfire MIGHTY!”
