Meet Simon: Epworth’s 10-Year-Old Music Prodigy with a Can-Do Spirit

By Tafadzwa Goliati

At just 10 years old, Simon Madzivire from Epworth is turning heads with his extraordinary talent and unwavering determination.

A Grade 5 student at Progress Academy, Simon is not only a gifted singer and musician — he’s also an inventor.

Simon is the creative force behind the “One Brother” one-man band and has even designed his own instrument using a recycled can.

His musical journey began at the tender age of six, and he has spent the past four years honing his skills, performing with passion and purpose.

When he’s not captivating audiences with his voice, Simon enjoys playing soccer. He’s the second-born in a family of four boys. His father works as a security guard at Safeguard, while his mother earns a living as a vendor.

Though he’s an average student academically, Simon’s determination sets him apart. He uses his earnings from performances to pay his school fees and even supports his family with household expenses — a remarkable feat for someone so young.

With infectious energy, raw talent, and a heart full of ambition, Simon Madzivire is a young star on the rise.
