Zim dancehall singer Killer T says he will releasing his upcoming album Tiri Vemuma Street this March.
According to Killer T the album is reflective of life in the streets; pick pockets, poverty and hunger.
“I just wanna say happy 2023 everybody this year we have a lot of projects coming. But we have an album coming out in March.
“It is basically about what goes in the streets you lose your phone and also at times waking up the next day with no busfare and all that. You know what it is, it is what it is,” Killer T said in a clip recorded at The NewsHawks.
Tiri Vemuma Streets coming on the heels of the return of top Zim dancehall producer PTK.
PTK is largely credited for bringing to life the Zim dancehall craze when he dropped the popular Bodyslam Riddim some eight years ago.
The riddim popularly known as Bodyslam was named after the record stable to which PTK used to work for together with Simba Chakare, a record label owner.
Word doing the rounds is that PTK is working on Bodyslam Part 2 and Killer T is one of the top artists to feature on the riddim.
The song is likely to appear on Tiri Vemuma Streets which makes it one to look forward to.
However, Killer T critics maintained that of late he has been drifting from the hardcore Zim dancehall which made him a household name.
Killer T’s previous album was more of popular music than Zim dancehall and it appears he will continue on that trajectory seeing that he is bringing the young and the old on the same stage.
Bodyslam Riddim was released about 8 years ago and Killer T aka The Chairman jumped on the riddim as late entry with a song ‘KuHIFA’ in 2014.
It therefore, remains to be seen how PTK will fair this time on Bodyslam Part 2.
Whichever way the upcoming riddim is likely to revive the competitive nature of Zim dancehall music as what happened when the first riddim dropped.
