Kariba — Excitement fills the air in Kariba as the second edition of the Kariba Carnival and Business Expo officially kicks off today, bringing together over 15 companies and organizations in a celebration of enterprise, culture, and community.
This year’s expo features an impressive lineup of participants, including Bindura University, Karoi, Chegutu, and Norton Town Councils, the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), ZimParks, and Mabirira Resort, among others.
Set against the scenic backdrop of Lake Kariba, the event is expected to draw thousands of visitors. Tomorrow, the festivities will be marked by a high-level tour of exhibition stands by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Marian Chombo, underscoring the expo’s growing importance in the region’s economic calendar.
Obert Siamilandu, the event coordinator, expressed excitement over this year’s turnout.
“We are expecting more exhibitors this year, with many companies already confirmed,” said Siamilandu. “It’s more than just business—it’s a platform for connection, celebration, and growth.”
The three-day extravaganza offers a dynamic mix of activities: from live music and traditional dance performances to mouthwatering food stalls and vibrant cultural displays.
Attendees can also expect family-friendly entertainment, interactive exhibitions, and rich networking opportunities.
“This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services, connect with potential customers, and collaborate with fellow entrepreneurs,” Siamilandu added.
With over 50 exhibition stands already booked, the 2025 edition is set to eclipse last year’s success.
The expo positions Kariba not just as a tourist destination but as a thriving hub of innovation and cultural exchange.
Siamilandu encouraged the public to attend and experience the “beauty, culture, and entrepreneurial spirit of Zimbabwe,” promising an unforgettable experience for all.
As the carnival continues throughout the weekend, Kariba transforms into a vibrant stage where business meets tradition, and creativity takes center stage—firmly placing the lakeside town on the map as a key player in Zimbabwe’s cultural and economic revival.
