The State of Palestine has strongly condemned Israel’s plan to forcibly transfer the entire population of the Gaza Strip to a “humanitarian zone” in Rafah.
Palestinian officials warn that this plan marks a dangerous escalation in the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.
The Palestinian government denounced the proposal as “heinous,” accusing Israel of seeking to depopulate Gaza and erase Palestinian presence.
“The initial phase of this sinister plan aims to gather hundreds of thousands of civilians inside the Gaza Strip into a mass concentration camp under strict security control, with severe restrictions on movement—including a ban on exiting—a situation worse than the Nazi camps,” the statement said.
Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, HE Tamer Almassri, called on the international community to respond urgently, stressing that states have legal obligations to act to halt the genocide in Gaza.
“States must implement effective measures to protect Palestinian civilians, ensure Israel’s compliance with international law and the decisions of the International Court of Justice, hold Israel accountable for its crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, and provide redress to victims in line with international law,” HE Almassri said.
The plan is seen as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, constituting crimes against humanity, including forced displacement, persecution, and systemic discrimination.
Human rights organizations have warned of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of forced displacement in Gaza.
The State of Palestine urged the international community to intervene immediately to protect civilians and uphold international legal norms, condemning what it called an “escalating genocidal policy.”
