By Admore Mbonda in Kariba
Forget the cold. Kariba is about to catch fire.
Brace yourselves, because on 27 June, the serene shores of Kariba will transform into a battlefield of bangers. Two of Zimbabwe’s most beloved hitmakers—Hulengende and Jah Siginal—are set to go head-to-head in a musical showdown that promises to be the winter event of the year.
The venue? Ofroad Garden, Chawara. The vibe? Electric. The stakes? Bragging rights.
Hulengende, the man behind the anthem that drives the ladies wild—”Fadza Madzimai”—is bringing his signature energy. On the other side of the stage, Jah Siginal, the voice behind the soulful smash “Emerina,” is ready to prove why he’s a festival favorite.
Two artists. One night. Zero room for disappointment.
Winter in Kariba is no joke. The nights are crisp, the crowds are hungry, and the entertainment spots are buzzing. Organizers say this show is being framed as the first big winter party of the season—a gathering that will pull locals from across the province and visitors from as far as Zambia.
“We want everyone to come early, be part of the vibe, and enjoy the performances properly,” said promoter Bigboy Katuka. “Karibeans are serious when it comes to enjoying winter. On the day, it won’t be a small show. People will come in numbers.”
Beyond the music, organizers see this event as a boost for Kariba’s hospitality and tourism sector. When the crowds roll in, lodges fill up, restaurants buzz, and local traders smile.
Mashal Mushore, representing Kariba Funds, put it plainly:
“Events like this bring energy, bring people together, and help keep Kariba alive during the winter. We’re glad Kariba will host someone of Jah Siginal’s calibre, and we hope preparations are done professionally so fans enjoy safely.”
If you’ve never experienced a Kariba winter crowd, here’s your warning: they don’t play. The energy is raw. The singing is loud. And the party doesn’t stop until the last track fades.
Ofroad Garden in Chawara is being prepped as the perfect battleground—spacious, safe, and ready for a takeover.
With the date locked and the artists primed, the message from organizers is clear:
Kariba is ready. The show will be full packed. Come early, come warm, and come to party.
Hulengende. Jah Siginal. One stage. One night.
Winter has never sounded this hot.
27 June. Ofroad Garden, Chawara, Kariba. Don’t miss the clash.
