MUTARE – Fastjet Zimbabwe has announced the addition of a new early morning flight on its popular Johannesburg to Harare route, further enhancing connectivity between the two cities.
The new service, scheduled to commence on 29 September 2025, will operate daily except Saturdays, utilizing the airline’s Embraer ERJ145 aircraft.
The announcement was made during the Sanganai/Hlanganani Kumbanayi Tourism Expo in Mutare, where Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Nunurai Ndawana emphasized the role of aviation in regional development.
“Aviation is a catalyst for economic development. We believe our morning service will support the smooth movement of business travelers, thereby strengthening trade relations between Johannesburg and Harare,” said Ndawana.
Fastjet Zimbabwe’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vivian Ruwuya, highlighted the importance of flexibility in meeting customer needs.

“We are always looking to offer our customers more convenient travel options,” Ruwuya stated. “In recent months, we’ve seen increased demand from business travelers for early departures from Johannesburg. Our new flight, FN8220, provides an early morning departure, enabling customers to maximize their working day in Harare.”
She added that the new flight is already open for bookings.
