When Enzo Ishall came up a few years back, many confused him for a child star all because of his child-like voice but little did they know he was way past his teens.
That worked for him because his breakaway hit produced by Levels of ChillSpot Records — Kanjiva — opened doors for Enzo Ishall.
His sophomore single Smart Rinotangira Kutsoka also did some rounds building on the success of Kanjiva and putting Enzo Ishall in an enviable position as heir apparent to Zim dancehall throne.
And since that time Enzo Ishall has been on the rise up until he broke ranks with his handler Passion Java when he jumped ship and copped a deal with Teemark.
A nasty fallout between Enzo Ishall and Passion Java as well as entire Chillspot ensued. And as reality set in Enzo Ishall then made a sensational U-turn after Teemark left him in the cold.
He was now playing second fiddle to other new skool Zim dancehall contemporaries who at the time were being churned out by Chillspot Records.
But in music just like in politics there are no permanent friends or enemies, Enzo Ishall and Passion Java have found each other again.
They have mended relations and the first project to drop — Chidavado — has literally shutdown the debate whether or not Enzo Ishall was still at the top of his game.
Chivado is a massive hit which leans heavily on the hip-hop side and Enzo Ishall raps on the track like his life depended on it.
Both Enzo Ishall and Passion Java look gangster in the video in an apparent kidnapping case where the prophet was held hostage.
And Enzo Ishall comes to his rescue and bust the kidnappers in an amazing fashion. He coins new words, chintaulila, finesse and chidavado which pretty soon will be used in street lingo.
Could this partnership work again and who needs who, it is Enzo Ishall or Passion Java nothing is clear yet, but time will tell.
Chirarrr!
