Zimbabwe’s gospel star — Dr Toggy Chivaviro — made a successful Australian Tour where he not only performed but also worshipped to packed venues.

The Ebenezer hitmaker performed in Adelaide on 27 July 2024 and two other concerts in Sydney that were sold out.

An elated Dr Chivaviro described the Australian tour as “awesome” and “humbling” as his music is being well received in Zimbabwean diaspora.

“The first event was a purely musical concert in Adelaide on Saturday 27 July 2024, I was surprised when the hall got full before I had even started ministering in song Adelaide fans were quite a happy lot.

“The event had been postponed twice since last year and I’m so grateful they were patient enough to still attend.

“On Sunday 28 July I was back in Sydney and I had two sessions, the morning one at AFM and afternoon at the Methodist Church.

“Both were full houses, filled by mostly Zimbabweans. It was quite nostalgic, I felt like I was in Harare. It was a mixture of both Word and Song and what a time!” Dr Chivaviro said.

Much to his surprise, this was his debut in Australia and his shows felt a lot like he was performing before a home crowd back in Harare.

“It was my first time in Australia, I think I will certainly go back soon as we had complaints from people in other states especially Melbourne and Perth.

“The next tour we will allocate more time and do maybe six States to cater for as many of our fans as possible,” Dr Chivaviro said.

He thanked his Australian music fans for showing up in their numbers and also the opportunity to fellowship during the tour.

“My appreciation to Mr Bellington Magwanyamwanya, Zoe Mvura, Rev Zwana (MCZ) and Pastor Shone (AFM) for their tireless efforts to make this happen. Glory be unto Jesus,” he sid.
