Financial institution Nedbank will host SMEs Conference on May 7 in Harare where South African businesswoman and filmmaker Connie Ferguson will be the guest.
Connie is expected to share her journey and business nuggets on how she became a multimillionaire as an African business woman.
Nedbank Senior Manager Marketing, PR & Communications, Mary-anne Kwidini said the Saturday’s event will be by invitation.
“The Nedbank event will be an SME conference which will be held on Saturday and will be by invitation where we will invite SMEs, women in business who will come through and interact with Connie, and Connie will share her journey and business nuggets on how she has become a multimillionaire as a woman in business in Africa,” she said.
Kwidini said the objective of the event was to inspire and impart wisdom and knowledge to women in Zimbabwe who aspire to grow their businesses in Zimbabwe and Africa as well.
“So as Nedbank, we are rallying behind the women of Zimbabwe and we are saying this is an opportunity for them to tap into these skills Connie has had over the years from starting off as an ordinary individual into becoming that woman who has a multimillion-dollar business,” she said.
Connie Ferguson is expected to land May 6 in the afternoon ahead of the dinner hosted by Zodwa Mkandla Foundation.
Then the next day, she heads to the SMEs Conference.
The Harare visit is part of a regional tour that includes Botswana.
Connie became a household name when she starred in SABC’s Generations soapie as ‘Karabo Moroka’ from 1994 till her exit in 2010.
She later co-founded production empire, Ferguson Films with her late husband, Shona and runs a fitness and lifestyle brand, IConniecFit.
Connie is also an author, speaker, producer and co-founder of production company Ferguson Films which she co-founded with her late husband Shona Ferguson.
