With a remarkable viewership of 3.2 million per episode, CHIPO the GIFT has firmly established itself as more than just a TV drama. It’s a social mirror, using the power of film to shine a light on taboo and complex societal matters.

A Story with Purpose

In this new season, the titular character Chipo, played by the talented Gamuchirai Mukwakwami, steps into a new chapter as a social worker devoted to helping others. Meanwhile, Spencer, portrayed by Leo Jakata, finds redemption in leading a rehabilitation support group for drug and substance abusers.

The drama tackles a powerful slate of themes in Season 4, including:

Femicide

Drug and substance abuse

Abortion in light of a recent High Court ruling

The cultural shift of appointing a female traditional chief

These bold storylines are handled with care and creative finesse, thanks to the visionary Director Nakai Tsuro and acclaimed Producer Daves Guzha, both multi-award-winning forces in Zimbabwean film and theatre.

An All-Star and Emerging Cast

Season 4 sees the return of familiar faces including Dalma Chiwereva, Mercy Chirikure, Peter Churu, Tizola, Lovejoy Mwaoneka, and Lorraine Mushati. A special treat for fans: Charity Dlodlo of Studio 263 fame makes a guest appearance, adding more sparkle to an already stellar ensemble.

Staying true to its commitment to empowering youth, CHIPO the GIFT brings in Kurai Muzhona as Director of Photography and Ian Jokonya as second camera operator — showing that behind the camera, there’s just as much talent as in front of it.
