Kariba— St Barbra Parish youth turned out in full force to celebrate Mother’s Day at St. Mary’s Church, bringing the community together in a spirited display of love and gratitude.
The celebration commenced with lively singing and energetic dance performances by the parish youth, who took turns to express their admiration for the hard work and sacrifices made by mothers.
As the festivities unfolded, the young parishioners shared heartfelt messages of praise, highlighting the essential roles mothers play in shaping their lives.
In a gesture of appreciation, the youth distributed slices of cake to all mothers present, symbolizing their collective gratitude. One enthusiastic youth remarked, “We contributed $1 from each youth to honor our beloved mothers. It’s a small token of our appreciation for everything they do.”
During the Mass, Reverend Father Brighton Chibodo delivered a poignant message about the importance of recognizing the contributions of mothers.
He emphasized that mothers are the backbone of families, often sacrificing their own desires for the well-being of their children.
“It is vital to remember what our mothers do and have done to raise us,” Father Chibodo stated.
He elaborated on the countless late nights spent caring for sick children, the unwavering support during challenging times, and the invaluable life lessons imparted through their nurturing.
Father Chibodo further underscored that a mother’s love is unconditional and transcends all barriers.
“They teach us resilience, compassion, and the importance of community. On this day, we honor not just our biological mothers, but all maternal figures who have impacted our lives,” he said, encouraging everyone to reflect on the love and sacrifices that have shaped their journeys.
Mother’s Day is a celebration that honors mothers, the maternal bonds, and the vital roles they play in society.
It is a time to recognize and appreciate the countless contributions of mothers, not just on this day, but every day of the year.
The joyful celebration at St. Mary’s Church was a beautiful reminder of the love and respect that the community holds for its mothers.
