Chipo The Gift episode 2 sets out to show how Covid-19 pandemic has caused some serious misconceptions in the village where people confuse it for witchcraft while in the urban areas people resort to alcohol abuse since they are on lockdown.
The drama which became an instant hit among ZBCTV viewing audiences every Tuesday at 7.30pm is being supported by Rooftop Promotions and Oxfam.
Directed by Nakai Tsuro, today’s episode will tackle the impact of Covid-19 pandemic at village level where there is often confusion whether or not is also linked to witchcraft. Even those infected by the disease do not know the symptoms and suspect this is caused by their enemies back in the village.
Just as most of the characters are self-employed and under lockdown, it appears struggle to get their basic necessities.
And Chipo found herself unproductive and started resorting to alcohol just like many youths in the ghettos who take to alcohol to beat boredom.
This is sort of a continuation from the first episode where it is especially hard for the women in rural and peri-urban areas who have to source food and also perform their daily domestic duties.
Gender based violence is rife with families closed in and outside help, information and justice seemingly inaccessible. What about Mapfumo Katsaya who played the role of Ndoro right from the first season?
He has been handling the production with his management skills as the production manager for the whole season. Gamuchirai Mukwakwami continues with her role as Chipo, you should be remembering her boyfriend Spencer.
Another actress worth mentioning is Eunice Tava whose acting skills leave viewers spellbound since her days as stage actress.
